Having a great company logo is a small portion of creating a quality brand that resonates with your audience but it is without a doubt the most important part of the puzzle when you consider that all facets of your brand – such as your website design – will built on the attributes of your logo. But when is it time to redesign your logo? Not only a great question to ask yourself but consider this to be your evaluation question when interviewing graphic designers to do the honors.

Consider the banking industry. Whenever our economy tanks – banks re-brand themselves as being ‘friendly’ and ‘accessible’. So, reason number one for knowing when it’s time to re-design your logo is when there are major changes in your industry. Those changes can include your audience too. Perhaps you’re company’s focus has changed to include a larger demographic or a smaller one. Either way – it would prompt some re-branding.
Perhaps your business needs to shakes some things up – to reinvigorate your customer base. Think about brands such as Pepsi that recently overhauled their logo. Some brand logos become so familiar to us that we stop noticing them – until they shake us up again. That’s another good indicator that its time to redesign your logo.
